    A BioHealth research program selected by the French Ministry of Research and Education in the framework of the "Laboratoires d'Excellence" initiative.

    EpiGenMed wants to foster the best BioHealth basic and clinical research and to encourage interdisciplinary projects. The EpiGenMed project was selected by the French Ministry of Research and Education in the framework of the national "Investments for the Future" program in 2011. The project received 12 million euros in funding for a 10-year period, essentially devoted to science training through the recruitment of PhD students, post-doctoral fellows and Chairs of Excellence.

    EpiGenMed involves 58 of the best research groups in Montpellier, implicated in five areas of research that cover Genome and Epigenome Dynamics, Cell cycle, Cell fate and Development, Infectious diseases and Immunology, Cell signalling and Neurobiology, Biophysics and Systems biology. It is hosted by the University of Montpellier and national science institutions and benefits from an excellent industrial environment

Montpellier is awarded the Label I-SITE

After a hearing before an international jury on February 21st, the project “Montpellier University of Excellence” (MUSE) was awarded the label Initiatives – Science – Innovation – Territoires – Economie” (I-SITE) established within the French program “Investissements d’Avenir”.

 

The project involves the University of Montpellier, ten research institutions (BRGM, CEA, Cirad, CNRS, Ifremer, INRA, Inria, Inserm, IRD, Irstea), four schools (Architecture Montpellier, Chimie Montpellier, Mines d'Alès, SupAgro), three health institutions (CHU Montpellier, CHU Nîmes, Institut du Cancer de Montpellier), and one international organisation (CIHEAM-IAMM).

 

Embracing 6 000 scientists and 50 000 students, the MUSE project benefits from active support from Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole and the region Occitanie / Pyrénées – Méditerranée. This project will accelerate the future development of the whole area and promote its visibility on the national and international higher education and research scenes.

 

 

 

Après son audition par un jury international le 21 février, le projet Montpellier University of Excellence (MUSE) a décroché la labellisation Initiatives – Science – Innovation – Territoires – Economie (I-SITE), dans le cadre des Investissements d’Avenir.

 

Le projet implique autour de l’Université de Montpellier, 10 organismes de recherche (BRGM-CEA-Cirad-CNRS-Ifremer-INRA-Inria-Inserm-IRD-Irstea), 4 écoles (Architecture Montpellier-Chimie Montpellier-Mines d'Alès-SupAgro), 3 établissements de santé (CHU Montpellier-CHU Nîmes-Institut du Cancer de Montpellier) et une organisation internationale (CIHEAM-IAMM).

 

Riche de ses 6 000 scientifiques et de ses 50 000 étudiants, le projet MUSE bénéficie du soutien actif de Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole et de la Région Occitanie / Pyrénées – Méditerranée. Il sera un formidable accélérateur pour l’avenir de l’ensemble du site et pour sa visibilité sur la scène nationale et internationale de l’enseignement supérieur et de la recherche.
