March for Science – April 22nd 2017 - in France and in Montpellier

Parent Category: Actualités Published: Tuesday, 28 March 2017
 March 22 04

The March for Science was initiated in the United States as a reaction to the denial of science, and the questioning of its place in American society. The movement has spread rapidly all over the world.

In France, the March will take the form of a large non-partisan meeting between the public and scientists, covering three major topics:

Defending the independence and freedom of public research.

Promoting a better dialogue between the sciences and society.

Reinforcing the use of scientific methods and results in the process of political decision-making.

The initiative is supported by the CNRS, INSERM, INRA, INRIA, CEA, IRD, CPU, CURIF and a growing number of universities.
